JOB INFORMATION:
This position is located in the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) which is responsible for the coordination of violence prevention strategy and programs in the District of Columbia with a focus on utilizing public health approaches to respond to and prevent violence.
The Office seeks to reduce violence by identifying, recruiting, and engaging individuals determined to be at high risk of participating in, or being a victim of, violent crime in positive behavioral reinforcement activities.
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION:
This position requires Specialized Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exercise full program planning and managerial responsibility. Oversees all administrative functions associated with managing the agency programs, including the preparation of budgets and other financial documents and reports, statistical reports, personnel actions, contracts, and procurement.
Assures that the work assignments for subordinates are carried out in a timely manner in accordance with established policies and procedures, installation of management controls, and reporting systems.
Identifies business development opportunities designed to enhance programming to include grant funding, partnerships, and donations. Confers regularly with the leadership team and Director to keep apprised of new or changing policies, positions, requirements, and special priority matters.
